PWC trailer -> canoe trailer

Has anyone ever converted a PWC (jet ski) trailer to a single canoe trailer? What I am envisioning is a small rack that would be built off the existing trailer frame with Yakima bars used as cross bars. If you're familiar with the Yakima Outdoorsman truck ruck, that is what I'm thinking, only on a small trailer.

My primary concern is the length of the trailer. My canoe is 16' long, I haven't put a tape to the trailer yet. Could this be a show stopper? Most of the canoe trailers I see online are pretty long.

I think it might be too short. Are you intending to use this offroad or just on paved surfaces?

I think it will be too short, but I also think we can fix that without too much trouble. This isn't something I'd use on trails or anything. Strictly paved roads, gravel roads, and some gravel bars.
