New Capetown-London record attempt

Last February, a pair of intrepid adventurists driving a Fiat Panda smashed the standing record for the drive from Capetown to London. Their time of 10 days, 13 hours was more than a day faster than the previous record. Read about their journey here

Fast forward to October 2013. A new pair is setting out to capture the Capetown-London record. This time, the vehicle will be a 2005 Land Rover LR3. The SUV is mostly stock, with an auxiliary fuel tank expanding range to 1200 miles without refueling. One goal is to raise donations for Farm Africa, a charity that fights hunger. So, hopefully it will be back in the hands of a Land Rover, seeing as how the Range Rover Classic held the record for decades.
