TURBO DIESEL OVERLANDING VEHICLE
Factory 1997.5 6.5 Turbo Diesel 2 Door Tahoe

Hello Fellow Expedders,

This U.S. Government issue base model Tahoe was purchased in 2006 and upgraded over 7 years. It starts instantly, idles smoothly, accelerates quickly and burns 1 qt of oil between changes. No visible blow-by with good oil pressure & turbo boost. It stops straight and shifts tight. It has cruise control, tilt wheel, cold AC. and gets 20MPG on the freeway @ 60mph. It has a 30 gallon fuel capacity and runs on foreign diesel. It's dust tight and stays clean inside on dirt roads. Zero body rust, Extensive soundproofing makes for a very quiet ride while cooling modifications mean never overheating engine or transmission. Rolls Royce wool carpeting in the sleeping area, the comfortable bed and insulated window shades makes for cozy sleeping. The Solar panel allows for extended camping powering the included fridge and excellent stereo. Battery combiner means never being without a jump while the digital battery monitor keeps tabs on 3 batteries. All work done thoughtfully and professionally to marine standards with marine spec materials. Drives like new despite it's 203k miles, one minute behind the wheel and you'll agree, it's tight. Excellent ski mobile too.

Changing family circumstances requires more seats, so I'm onto a truck and pop top.

Off road travel was on dirt roads throughout the west with minimal 4wd flexing. I choose to keep everything light forgoing heavy bumpers, winches and suspension and the circle of upgrades needed to offset added weight. Complete camp sets up within 4 minutes, bed stays made under a cover. This is my 3rd, 2 door build.

I'm not that familiar with the market so I'm asking what seems a reasonable price. I hate selling stuff, that's why it's all included. I'd rather just see it all go. $9,500.00

Damn this is nice. I did not know that they were still making the 2 door K5 that late. I thought they stopped in 1995.

Would something like a fold and tumble jeep back seat be able to fit in the back at all?

Yes it would and you would have room on both sides because it is still narrower than the interior. You could just fit the proper rear seat though.

I love the third gen K5s (second gen are just too redneck for me) and this one is awesome.
