    Default Timing belt change-out

My taco will be coming up on the 80K mark this summer...Can anyone tell me who sells a kit that would contain all the parts for a timing belt change? (at a good price of course) Also I will change the water pump at the same time. Any suggestions comments/mods during this time?

When it comes to belts & water pumps... I wouldn't install anything but OEM... especially given the amount of work it takes to change the timing belt and water pump in this case. Your local dealership should have everything you would need.

I've seen conflicting reports on the 3.4ltr. Some say change it at 60K some say 90K.

I changed mine at 60K and recently again at 120K. At 120K the belt was ok but my water pump had a small leak. So even if the belt is ok, it's still worth looking at the water pump at certain mileage intervals.

I'm thinking he meant "wouldn't install anything but OEM". My recollection of the 3.4 is 90k as well for timing belt and water pump.

I did mine at 82k because the water pump started leaking. Otherwise they recommend 90k.
