She's a dually
6.2L Diesel GM Turbo 400 Trans and cooler
Dana 60 limited slip locker
Dana 70 with Detroit non slip locker
Manual Locking Hubs
4:56 Gears
pretty hardcore I don't know If I want to keep her or sell.
I know these dually's are pretty rare , especially with this low mileage.
Should clean up nicely

If it isnt an ex-military rig, I'd be willing to bet that odometer has been around once or twice. Still an awesome rig. Simple, and strong!

The green tells me its ex military. It would make a.great base for a camping truck. Strong reliable easy to get parts.

Ye,s it's a CUCV otherwise I would not have trusted the ODO.
comes with a nice list of equipment.

1 1/4 ton suspension, Open Dana 60 Front, 14 bolt Rear with Detroit full locker.

M1008 with civilian dually fenders

No I think the fenders may be authentic. I do remember seeing M1028 CUCV duallies in the motor pool from time to time in the 80's -90's (the 1008 is the light truck the 1028 is the heavy version, IIRC. The Blazer is the 1009.)

Here's an excerpt from olive-drab.com with info on the CUCV series:

http://olive-drab.com/idphoto/id_photos_m1028.php

The nomenclature and features of the M1028 variants are:
•M1028 Truck, Shelter Carrier, Tactical, 1 1/4 Ton, 4x4 (S250 commo shelter, communications kit and 24v/100 amp electrical) (NSN 2320-01-127-5077)
•M1028A1 Truck, Shelter Carrier w/PTO, Tactical, 1 1/4 Ton, 4x4 (Same as M1028 with NP205 transfer case for PTO) (NSN 2320-01-158-0820)
•M1028A2 Truck, Shelter Carrier w/PTO, Tactical, 1 1/4 Ton, 4x4 (Same as M1028A1 plus dual rear wheels) (NSN 2320-01-295-0822)
•M1028A3 Truck, Shelter Carrier, Tactical, 1 1/4 Ton, 4x4 (Same as M1028A2 with NP208 plus dual rear wheels) (NSN 2320-01-325-1937)
•M1028FF Truck, Firefighting, 1 1/4 Ton, 4x4 (M1028 with fire fighting equipment in cargo bed) (NSN 4210-01-259-4609)

I would be cautious - those were normally used to carry heavy electrical shelters. The suspension and possibly the frame could have gotten damaged from carrying a heavy shelter over rough terrain.

Not likely.

Looks like its 128K and not 28K. Not a big deal as these motors go up to 300,000 all the time. If you decide to let her go drop me a PM. If you want to keep her check out my build. "Project Warwag"

That looks like a np208 transfer case shifter, seems odd for it not to have an np205. Anyone have any ideas on that? Awesome truck either way, definatly an exmilitary rig.

According to the linke I found (posted earlier) the M1028A3 had the 208 T-case and dual rear wheels.

it definitely is 28.000 orig miles

Not hard to believe at all. Shelter carriers were normally just driven out to the field, set up, and then left there during operations.

Since they normally have a heavy electrical shelter in the back, it's not like you're going to use them to run back and forth. ;)
