Debadging a 2003 Tundra

Ok, this may seem like a frivolous topic, but has anyone de-badged a 2003 era Tundra? I'm cleaning it up and the chrome badges are in the way. I've never really liked them anyway. My main concern is that I know, on some vehicles, the sheet metal actually has holes for the "tabs" on the badges to line up with. I'm not going to take off the badges if it means I have to patch holes.

I just helped a buddy slice the badges off of his jeep with some fishing line and it looks so clean, I like it.

Badges, we don't have no badges. We don't need no stinking badges.

Use fishing line, dental floss will not work it will just break. If you have a heat gun it will make it easier, or your GF/wife hair dryer.

Hi,
I use a plastic bondo spreader and a hair dryer. I have done many using this technique: heat the area thoroughly with a hair dryer, use the bondo spreader or a plastic putty knife to wedge the letters off. Once they are off, I use acetone, clear tar and bug remover or even WD-40 to get the last of the adhesive off.

Good luck!
