Woodman's Pal Question

I've been thinking about buying a Woodman's Pal for about 40 years (as an admirer of Treebeard I don't want to be acused of being hasty). So I'm thinking of finally getting one because I need to cut a bunch of bamboo that's up to about 2 1/2" in diameter.
I'm wondering if anyone here has used one for that and how well it served.

I use one all the time. cant say for 2 1/2 bamboo, but everything from splitting wood while camping, to falling trees (larger than 2.5 inch, though takes multiple swings). I would think it would cut through a 2.5" bamboo in one swing. They are great tools.

I used one in Guatemala when traveling with No Limits Expedition in the Petan. They had them, loved them and used them all the time. in the Petan, you can't go very far without having to cut through fallen jungle growth and dropped vines. The woodsman was a very effective tool.
