I happened to have a bit of time to kill and wandered over to the Tatra company website yesterday. Tatra has been bouncing between owners for the last couple of years and recently got a new owner which appears to be bringing them stability and investment - which is what they have needed for a while.

They also just announced they are returning to the racing world with Dakar type trucks again -

On their site I noticed a new model available - and its a straight axles 6x6 truck - a lot like a MAN - but with true portal axles like a C304:
This is a modern vehicle with a water cooled diesel which says its from the PACCAR group of engines...
I think this is a lower cost option compared to their other models.
They also have updated the other more traditional T815 truck to a new version - the T815-7 - but have seemed to have dropped their 7 passenger crew-cab versions - which always have been my favorite...
Hopefully these new models will be good for Tatra and allow them to continue for many more years.
