Check amazon or craigslist for the best deals. I picked up a pair for my rig during the summer for $100 at a place in tahoe. However, from past experience, caltrans will close the road if a 4wd vehicle with snow tires requires snow chains. I still keep it in the rig during the winter season, just in case.

I have had to put them on once or twice when it was very icy and I was one of the few people out in the weather. Try these.

Well, yes, but the tires are a bit different...

So, what the OP really has are BFG All-Terrain 315/75R16 tires :(

Still wish Michelin made tires in that size.

Tire chains are one of those items that you get what you pay for. There is nothing inherently "special" about them, so it is easy for a manufacturer to cobble some together from cheap imported chain. WHen this breaks (and it will, it you use them off road), you will be in trouble.

Pewag and Rud make some of the best tire chains.
