Hi Arizona an Nevada hams.
The ARRL book lists a lot of repeater but what i really want is the repeaters expo members monitor, and the repeaters you use out on the trail.
I'm looking for Freq, offset, PL code, location, echo/IRLP node #. and which one you monitor most. plus your call sign.
If you could e-mail it in Excel would be cool. KI6NRF@gmail.com

Thanks everyone

In Tucson, the EEARS network is used a lot. (www.eaars.com) It is a linked system that covers most of SE Arizona and part of west New Mexico.

146.86 and (440.700 Hub) Heliograph Peak
147.28 Guthrie Peak - Greenlee County
145.21 Jacks Peak New Mexico. Between Lordsburg & Silver City
145.41 Pinal Peak Near Globe AZ
147.16 Mt Lemmon Near Tucson
146.70 Greens Peak Near Springerville - Showlow

All EAARS network repeaters operate with PL tone 141.3

I monitor the Mt Lemmon repeater.

For a local only repeater I use 449.875 with a PL of 100
It can be linked to a repeater in Cochise County by changing the PL. This repeater is in Green Valley area as I understand it and doesn't get the shadowing effect when close to Mt. Lemmon that repeaters up there get.

I would start with the EAARS network if calling for someone in AZ that it reaches. It seems like a lot of people monitor it.

When in Cochise County I use 449.875 with a 110.0 PL This is the one that can be linked to the other 70cm repeater if I need to get into Tucson as well. It is on Mule Mountain.

The national calling frequency gets used around here like any other frequency. It's actually a little annoying. I have a 70cm and 2m simplex frequency that I monitor just because I know some other guys that use it.

I use cross band repeat quite often between my handheld and mobile unit.

I just got started using Echolink and haven't really settled on one repeater yet. (Any suggestions).

I need to figure out a IRLP node I can use as well.

My call sign is KE7PMI. I have a second external speaker with magnets that I stick on the tool box of my truck when I'm on the jobsite. If anybody is in the area, give me a call, there's a decent chance I'll hear you.

Let me know if you need anymore info for this area.

Yeah, that is a good resource. If anybody in the area is interested I have an excel spreadsheet with every open repeater in the state of arizona along with DPS, Airports, DEA, FEMA, GMRS, FRS, Simplex, along with a bunch of others. It's slowly changing over time as I weed out stuff I don't like and add new stuff. It's sorted mainly for the Tucson area and to also take advantage of my brothers HF rigs memory management (which is different than my 8900)

I think this thread was more what people are using specifically if I understood correctly.

I don't have RF set-up yet on echo. It's all through the Internet(computer) I have yet to make a contact. I'm not even sure if my mic is working, LOL

Thanks for all the replies so far this info is exactly what i was looking for. Freq expo members are using.

I have used Echolink to make some contacts on Echolink. I have found the following.
- Use their test site to set up your audio. You can say something and it will repeat your transmission back to you so you can hear how it will sound.
- Look for the number in parenthesis to see how many people are on the link. It took me a little while to figure that out (I'm slow I guess). That way you can monitor and/or talk.

I'll get you a list of the local repeaters for central AZ soon!

check out the az repeater cordinators list.

You'd think they'd have good data, but I've found that it's full of errors, mostly in PL tones. I carry a copy of it with me, and for example, this weekend I found that nearly 50% of the info for Green's Peak in north east AZ was incorrect. Green's Peak is at 10,000' elevation and offers line of site comms from Gallup to Flagstaff, and probably all the way to Navajo Mt. on the Utah boarder.

1leg,

It'd be a good idea to get an ExPo list of repeaters. Those that provide coverage for all of our interested areas.
