map and compass, GPS class

The instructors are seasoned Search and Rescue volunteers and have given many classes on the subject.

Some info for all attending:

Bring your GPS (we are all more familiar with Garmin units so if you have another brand make sure to bring the manual also)
A base plate compass, we will have some available for loan if you don't have one yet.
Writing insturments pencils are better that ink pens.
We will have printed handouts.
I have tables but a limited number of chairs so bring a camping chair if possible.

I have two people lined up tp help with instruction so there will be good one on one help......

Saturday will be map and compass...plotting etc. with a field exercise.

Sunday will focus on GPS. How to set it up for easy use and another field exercise.

It is best to be here for both classes as GPS depends a lot on map and compass knowledge



You are welcome to come Friday to set up camp and stay till Monday to break down.
