Another gadget that caught my attention is a portable power pack from Cobra Electronics (the folks famous for CB radios in the 1970s) with enough power to start many vehicle engines. The Jumpack features 200A starting current, 400A peak current, and a 7500 mAh Li-Cobalt Battery. The Jumpack is remarkably small, easily small enough to fit in a jacket pocket. Click on the link below to see a photo.

The gadget includes a USB port with 5V, 2.1A power, the sort of juice an iPad needs to recharge quickly. Most other smart phones, tablets and other battery powered gadgets also like 5V DC power.

MSRP is expected to be $129, with delivery starting this Spring.

Update: Turns out Cobra is just reselling an existing battery pack made by a company called Antigravity Batteries.
