Dodge 2500 winch bumper?

Warn used to make a great simple but solid winch bumper. Everything out there now looks like it either fell of a stealth bomber or "The Mighty Humungous" rig in Road Warrior. I feel your pain!

The one on my F350 is one of the old Warn bumpers that came off a Suburban. I had to fab new mounts and cut the ends to be a bit more shapely, but I liked the finished product. The bottom of the headlights on an 03-05 Dodge would add to the challenge though.

Or the other end of the spectrum (gaaack!), what came on my Dodge, and soon found its way into the (s)crap metal bin!

That bumper on your Ford would be perfect! That bumper on your dodge looks huge! And HEAVY!

Look up Dodge Off Road. They sell the Road Rhino WIY kits pretty cheap. You can get front and rear for $950 plus shipping. This is the route I went and am really happy with the result.

I looked at those. Got any pic after you got them welded up? How was the fitment?

Far from a $1000 but www.aluminess.com and www.denver-offroad.com offer some good ones. My only hope is to find a guy selling his rig who wants to trade cash plus my stocker.

Yeah, the old Warn bumpers were sweet. I even took some pics of one when I was out camping once, just in case I decided to build my own, it would give me some reference.

Outside the price, Denver Offroad would be the one I would be buying. I just can't justify a 1/3 of the cost I paid for the truck, for just the bumper.

Here's what I put on my 06 CTD, it was less than $1,000.00

Mile Marker:

Push bars are not the same as a full bumper. Push bar work fine for mounting winches, lights and such but hit something at speed (like a deer) and you'll find out how much damage they tend to do. They tend to rotate back into the hood, grill and fenders. This is well documented over the Internet. Full bumper are well documented for cleaning off the blood and fur and continue on your way. Other downside as your photo shows, you lose a lot of approach angle. I have been on a few trails with our Ram that I would have dragged it through the trail.

Yep, I originally had a Manik push bar with winch plate on my Dakota, the lower cross bar sacrificed itself on a BFR on Mosquito Pass, that would have otherwise possibly taken out the radiator, but at the same time, that winch plate made it look like it had a fat lip.

How many critters are you planning on hitting? Even when I lived just wet of the continental devide on Colorado where there were lots of road kill on the road I never hit anything. Bumpers alone are well documented for throwing animals over the hood and into the windshield also....

I would like a "real" winch bumper too but this is what I could afford at the time that I took this winch off of my 1994 Dakota and transplanted onto Azul Brute. If you want a bumper for less than $1000 I think you will have to make one yourself.

That looks like a standard Power Wagon set up. If you have a hemi you can do it but there's not enough room with a CTD. And it will be WAY more than $1000!


I take that back, it doesn't look like a standard PW...
