Thanks! I don't plan to...I'm to far down the rat whole with this one. Plus, I don't feel like beating the crap out of a nice brand new truck again haha. I'll likely end up caging this one and throwing a long travel kit on it. Once that happens, I'll probably pick up an 07-13 suburban 2500 as a DD/tow vehicle. This likely 2 years away...

Hey Guys,

I'll be heading out the weekend of September 18th for another run out of Carson City. Thought I'd throw an invite out to anyone who would like to join us. This will be a fast paced trip so please make sure your rig is built for it. The terrain won't be to rough but the trucks take a beating from all the vibrations at speed. For example, a tacoma or F150 with some upgraded shocks like Icon, Fox, & king should do fine on this one.

You'll need a VHF radio and some sort of GPS. Ideally a lowrance but motion x app or something else on a tablet or smart phone will work. You can get a nice preprogrammed handheld from rugged radios for under $100: http://www.ruggedradios.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1274

For more info here's a link to our site: http://www.expeditionxoffroad.com/#!devils-express/cvm4

I am curious do you guys make sure the trails are clear before hauling the mail? Are the trails one way or 2 way....just curious on other traffic?

That video makes me want to go 70k in debt.

lol, that's your call. Prices should come down on the current Raptors once the new one hits. If not, a f150 or other truck can easily be equipped to perform just as well. Well, still a good chunk of change but you don't have to pay for the "name".

Great vids!!!! Can't wait for desert season :)

Thank you sir.

We don't see much traffic on the trails honestly. Since we offroad in the open desert it's easy to spot on coming traffic from far away. We have a lead truck which set a safe pace. We also take it easy around turns where the view is obstructed.

Went up to the Lost Coast for a little camping with my son. He's 3 & half and it was our first father & son trip. He did great and had a blast playing on the beach at Sinkyone.

Put the setup through another 600 offroad miles on the Devils Express Run and it continues to impress. We had several rough sections and the RXT system really soaks it up. On the really hard "oopsie" hits the rear feels like it hits softer than the front now.

Here's a little clip going through a whooped out section.

Awesome build you have and great pictures. I cannot wait to move back to Cali in the next 3 years once I retire from the Army. We miss the Cali landscape and being able to camp most anywhere.

Is the only radio you are running is the RH-5R Rugged Radios 5-Watt Dual Band (VHF/UHF) Handheld Radio that you linked in one of your posts?

Thank you! It is awesome out here once you get out of the crowded cities.

I have a handheld for outside the truck but I use this Icom 50 watt radio. https://www.pciraceradios.com/SPD/i...ch-with-this-package--4184933584391276545.jsp

When we move back to Cali June 2018 we will be moving to San Pablo right next to Pinole off of I-880, cant wait to get home and start wheeling again.

What do you think of Rugged Radio products http://www.ruggedradios.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=61?

I am toying with the idea of putting in an intercom system in the truck as well with the race radio.

Also how do you have your antenna mounted?

Right on, you'll be 15 minutes away from me as I live in Vallejo.

Looks good and Rugged Radios has a good reputation.

I use a magnet mount but will eventually go to a hard mount. Just haven't got around to it.

Sweet I know that area pretty good, well use to lol.

Where are you going to mount the hard mount, drill a hole in the roof or somewhere else?

Feel free to shoot me a PM.

Had a blast weekend at our Group Therapy meet in Barstow. I continue to fall in love with this truck especially since adding the Icon RXT rear setup. I was able to tow my 6500lb travel trailer down, rip around the desert for the weekend, and then tow back comfortably. Whole album can be found here from the meet: http://www.expeditionxoffroad.com/#!Group-Therapy-Barstow/conf/565df8c80cf2c000e92a527d

My wife is even beginning to love the offroad adventures.

Plus I'm able to put her to work haha. All the action shots of my truck were taken by her. Most of the time I don't get any of those shots since I'm the one taking all the pics of the trucks.
