FJ Cruiser drawer system

Here is the build I did over the holidays, works well for storing my recovery gear and tools. Made it out of 1/2" cabinet grade plywood, wrapped in carpet.





Matches the wheel wells fairly flush, and bolted securely to the body. I also left a opening for the AC outlet.

Nice box. I'm in the planning stages of building a box/sleeping platform for my FJ. Very early planning.

This looks great. What do you think your total cost was for the material?

Total cost, two (2) 8x4 1/2" cabinet grade plywood, 2 heavy gauge 28" drawer slides, piano hinges, carpet, pint of latex outdoor paint, and door pulls, approximately $135.00. Man hours, and only because I am not a cabinet maker, and getting the drawers to fit right, was about 8 hours.

Just finished this one up today. It's Line-X'ed now but not in the picture. The top drawer is removable and is modular to hold water cans or Alu-Boxes. I will get some more pictures later.
