Sorry, guess i may have not posted the link... I know I opened it and copied it.

Basically you just secure the shaft (by running your seatbelt through the steering wheel so it wont turn when you disconnect it). Then unbolt the bottom of the shaft, there is one bolt that goes through the shaft maybe 10" down from the firewall. Then you just push the shaft towards the firewall to get it to break loose. Push it in and out maybe 40 times and put it back together. What it does is free up the grease that built up inside the shaft and lubricates it correctly again.

I added a zerk fitting and added more grease on my silverado the first time but the problem with that is the shaft may not collapse in a front end crash... which could be a problem. Just re-lubing it by the above method worked just as well on the Tahoe and Escalade.

Good To know! The steering shaft had been replaced when I bought it, so hopefully It wont give me any problems for a while.

Well, I have a weakness, and it is called craigslist! I found a Rancho "4" inch lift for $450. Talked the guy down to $400 and drove on down to Wichita Kansas!

I have plans on doing a rear shackle flip to match the front so I can do away with the lift block.

I also was given a Viair 444c for free because it wouldn't build air.

I think I found my problem. Cylinder wall is scored and the piston seal was no bueno

My rebuild kit came in the mail today and now she is running great!

Finally got around to building my sleeping platform. It's not close to being completed, but It's started, so that's half the battle.

The sides will be enclosed as well. Since my truck is not an all time camp rig, I wanted the platform to be removable. The design is meant to slide straight out, remove the side boxes, and shazaam! It's a truck bed again.

I think over-the-canopy lumber racks (like a Kargo Master) are perfect additions to this type of setup, and look very similar to what you have drawn.

Well, I finally spent some more time on the platform. Turned out pretty good. I am not a carpenter by any means, but I think It will sufice. I have some carpet that I am going to cover it with tomorrow. I left my box cutter at work in my tool box and can't seem to find one at the house.

Finally got some funds to throw at the truck again. I started on the bumper/tire carrier tonight. This is what I got done.

The tail pipe is getting cut off after it goes over the axle. I broke my last sawzaw blade so I'm pretty much done for the night.

Nice looking truck. My 04 has been a great truck for the 240k miles I have put on it sense new. Don't forget about the pump rub in the transfercase that wears a hole in the rear half of the case. It took mine 160k miles to do it.

I haven't heard of that. I'll look into it. Sounds like it could be a good excuse to swap away from the auto-4x4.

Since no one but my dog ever sits in the back seat, i decided she too needed a platform.

This gives me tons of storage space and allows the dog a spot to actually lay down. Gonna see how she likes it this weekend on a camping trip to Nebraska.

Finally got around to painting the camper shell so it will somewhat match the truck. Sanded it down and herculined it.

I also got around to installing my Hot water setup. I'm using a 20 plate water to water setup being feed off the heater core lines. Pressure is from a Flojet 2.5 gpm pump with an automatic 60psi shutoff. I didn't get any pics of the process, but here is the setup.

Spaghetti of lines
