What about these components?

I'm trying to put together a list of parts to put together a GPS rig for my truck... I own a Sprint 4g Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7", and was looking at getting the following to go with it

Garmin GLO $99.00 http://www.thegpsstore.com/Garmin-GLO.aspx
Garmin GLO Hardwire kit $29.95 http://www.thegpsstore.com/Garmin-12v-Hardwire-Cable-for-GTU-10-and-GLO-P2724.aspx
RAM Flat surface mount for Tab 3 7 $59.06 http://www.rammount.com/NewProducts/samsunggalaxymount/tabid/3746/
Micro-USB hardwire power kit $18.95 http://www.amazon.com/Hardwire-Barewire-SmartPhones-including-Devices/dp/B005J4OTUO/ref=pd_sxp_f_r

How well do you think this setup would work? I was gonna place the RAM mount on the dash where it's flat, just in my reach. I was thinking of running BCN as my mapping software, as I don't think any of the others have near as much good reviews for the type of playing around with it I want to do. This might also wind up as a music setup for the truck, streaming to a bluetooth dongle attached to the stereo, but I have a small mount for my S4 that would probably be my entertainment setup.
Let me know what ya'll think.

I would save some money and just use a Bluetooth GPS module from ebay. 1/3 the price of the garmin and works exactly the same. BCN is a great app. The mapping for my area is old and a lot of back country roads and trails are not in the maps, but for 28 bucks a year you have full download of sat imaging so that makes up for it. Im going to get a bunch of micro sd cards to load high res sat imagry on for the areas I travel.

Hmmmm, that's not good to hear. I planned on buying a Tab 8" specifically for GPS navigation outside of cell coverage. :(

From what I understand the 8" tab seems to connect better. You might want to give it a try.

What is like about the Garmin GLO is it uses both the US GPS and Russian GLONAS satellite systems. Locks fast and accurate.

There are many people running the ebay unit and they lock fast and quick. Maybe the garmin will lock a little faster than the ebay model, but Im not sure. I have no personal knowledge but just know people who use the ebay modules. My acer locks in quick and keeps lock in my JK. I was surprised because I was all ready to buy a Bluetooth module. I have to run some tests in the backcountry before making my final decision. But my quick on road test was positive.
