1977 chinook custom 4x4

I recently purchased a chinook rv that had been previously converted to 4x4. The previous owner had found it sitting in a field. It had a 'newer' motor and transmission in it, so he gutted it, cleaned it up, and re-did much of the interior. It is about 90% finished on the inside. Since I have owned it here is a list of what I have done so far:

1. New brakes, master cylinder, and hoses
2. Re sealed all roof penetrations
3. Added a fantastic fan
4. Converting lights to led

Some things I have discovered that need attention:

1. Front leaf springs both have cracked mounts in the rear (yikes!)
2. Has original? Shocks that are not long enough for the lift that it has and they are shot
3. Needs a new water heater
4. Steering is way loose
5. Front tires rub on tight turns

List of things I plan to add or fix:

1. New longer shocks
2. Re-configure rear bumper with custom motorcycle carrier
3. Weld and gusset leaf spring mounts
4. Steering stabilizer
5. Some custom brush guards
6. Off road lights
7. Custom ladder
8. Spare tire carrier
9. Solar
10. Finish interior (new curtains etc.)
11. New water heater
12. Maybe update propane system
13. New side steps that don't rub

Here she is in all her glory

time to cut all this bumper and hitch off. this rear platform and hitch were not connected very well and were sagging.
Since I want to have a motorcycle rack on the back I don't want this platform and hitch cantilevered out so far. It also needs to be very solid as my bike is 300 lbs.
I think the previous owner built this thing out of lead, as it weighed well over 200 lbs.

Holy carp, look at the size of that doghouse!

Great van, but how's the foot room on the passenger side? Good thing my wife has small feet! :bike_rider:
