Default I think i'm in love....

    Yeah.......TATRA is her name.

This is what you get when you take an Ex-Dakar race truck and turn it into an assistance/chase truck the next year. The box on the back isn't really a camper but it does have a bed for some of the crew and carries lots of spare parts. In my imagination there is a sweet little camper inside......

Here is a link to some video of the race team testing. The first clip shows this truck towing an H2 up a hill at the beginning priceless....

A Tatra raced the Vegas to Reno 500 mile race several years back and it was amazing how well it handled rough terrain for being the size of a bus. Robby Gordon was all over it and wanted to know if it would be for sale after the race....not!

How much suspension travel does it have? It's amazing how well it handles the rough terrain.

OOohh yeah! They are very cool. I was gawking over them at scrutineering on New Years Eve before the start of the Dakar. Finned remote reservoir shock set ups...too cool.

As far as suspension travel.....enough? After looking at the diagrams of how the Tatra suspension is setup there is a limit before things start to go very wrong in the ring and pinion area. The Tatras are VERY unconventional in this area! I know the truck above is running what looks like two 3" body or larger Fox shocks and hydraulic bumpstops per wheel.

    Definitely "enough".

If my tuck can go half of the speed in the same terrain I'll be a very happy man.
