New shocks and coils spring on 300 GD

Hi alls,

I've changed shocks and coils spring on my 300GD W463 short twheel base. I've mounted Koni HT (Heavy tracks), and for coils spring, I have changed for 2010 G500 coils.
Very nice, now the G is firm but not too hard. I have loaded the cargo, and the G stay right. I'm very happy with this compromise of G500 coils springs and Koni HT.

Good solution.

Based on the testing I have read, the G-Wagen springs are pretty specific to the platform. In particular the length of the springs. G-Wagens have really long coils and use some of that length as "rate" for the load capacity. The length essentially eliminates the chance of a spring popping out under full extension. I have heard of several aftermarket springs that are too short. It seems like ORC has it figured out with their Eibach units.

The research I've done thus far points to Konis with ORC springs, or Bilsteins with factory springs. A heavier (armored, or fully loaded overlander with additional fuel etc.) G could benefit from the Fox system. Am I far off?
