I started out with a m416 in pretty good shape. I want to make it into a capable camping and offroad trailer.
Here is what it looked like from the start. Picked it up for $450 with the Pintle Hitch. Had to drive 6 hours each way to pick it up.

I knew that I wanted the bolt pattern to match the Toyota so I thought a axle swap was in order. Put on a Dexter 55" 3500lb axle with a part # of NS35655I-ST-EZ for $130. I did not opt for the electric brakes with hand brake. The price was quite a bit more.
I also added some new shocks as well KYB 344426 $25 a piece.
Tear down.

Test fit with my snow tires to make sure they will fit.

The condition of the bed when I picked it up. Not too bad. Overall pretty straight with who knows how many coats of paint on it.

Wow...OK if you wouldn't mind let me know. I just took mine to 2 places and they both said 1-1.5 hours of blasting. Maybe I should jump on that.

Nice tear down! Looks like a good clean trailer.
What color combo are you going with?
Are you going to build bigger fenders for more clearance or do a spring over?

Going with OD Green for tub and fenders. Black on frame.
Not getting bigger fenders. It is tight getting it into my back yard as it is. If I go any wider I could not store it there. Keeping the 265/75/17 tires on it. Putting a daystar greasable shackle lift to get just a little more clearance as i have a very slight tire rub on the fender fully loaded going over bumps offroad.

Keep checking back. Things are rolling. Planning to get a lid for it soon. It will be white. Black frame, green box, white top!
