Used headlamps came by mail earlier this week alongside two newly coded door locking cylinders and one for the gas lid.

Almost just the starter left to crank her up.

Oil from the parts axle was floating while i removed the free wheeling hubs. Figured it was best to split and clean them before istallation. New spring, seal and gaskets.

Did also manage to lay a breather hose for the front differential after the oil refilling. Rear diff and transmissions will be vented too.

There is progresson in the garage, but its just boring. E-brake, diesel piping and torquing bolts.

My plan to finish this winter didnt work out as i bought myself an original w201 190e mercedes with a lot of engine troubles. Almost all of my spare time went to this and welding my friends k160 Nissan Patrol 3.3td.

The DTM flared 190e is my brothers. Work in progress, waiting for a huge Evolution 2 rear wing, +++, and maybe even larger "class 1" front fenders from the latter DTM years with tube skeleton instead of earlier, traditional chassis+rollcage. His build thread is in a closed forum unfortunately. This picture was from a national Merc meeting and we did not see the white weather arriving. Not that funny on roadrace slicks Toyo R888 ...

Exhaust part 1

Posted this awhile ago, but after trying to update the thread i happened to delete the latest post one at a time for every reply i tried to do.

Bought in a bunch of bends and a few pipes to make an exhaust system. As Im having a 2.4D, 2L-series engine, for the registration I built it out of 2,5" pipes, when adding a turbo i'll built the downpipe in 3" before reducing to 2,5". To keep the velocity ill wrap it with bandage. Kept it as straight as possible, and Im satisfied enough with just 1x 60*, the rest is 30*.

2" square reciever

Ealier this spring, I began to make a 2" reciever in front to mount my winch to. This will also be the mounting for my baja tube bumper which will be added some time in the future. Had a few criterias before making it. It had to have the opportunity to clear the lager radiator from 1KZ-T 3.0TD, be able to have mounting points for a skid plate, not cover air flow to the radiator and be sturdy enough in every direction. It has been a lot back and forth as ive chopped and welded it at work and been fitting it at my workshop. Its not finished now, but it works.

Roof rails and rack

Bought a set of rails from a Land Cruiser 90 (Prado) as these seemed to fit all fine. Shortened the lengths a lot and fitted the paws. Drilled holes in the roof after a ******tload of measuring. Turned out well, but have to stiffen the roof a little more. The rails sits just fine, but with 40kgs of load i can imagine the threads in the jack nuts will not last long. The rack is, as mentioned earlier, from a Geländewagen w460 Wolf, Norwegian light armed military vehicle. It will only be used for luggage and a mounting point for search lights, strobes and a LED-bar. Anything more than that wouldnt be beneficial for steering or the roll center.

Bumper inspiration

Had forgotten of a friends truck which has a low, baja style bumper on. Was quite surprised when I saw it earlier today. Got a few shots of it before I had to leave. Thought id share with you guys.

Roof rack

Lately i've been working on the roof rack i mentioned about a year ago. Chopped a Geländewagen Wolf rack in two and shaved off the width a few inches from each side. As the time flyes by and im continiuosly sorting and editing thoughts in my mind, plans changes when other ideas comes in mind. From the beginning it was just thoughts of a 40" LED bar in front and a few, slick on each side to keep it stealth (from the law). As the registration plate will be mounted on the roof it looks like its going to be crushed within the first week of driving. Searched the forum for inputs and found a sweet looking FJ80. Took some ideas here and there and ive now begun to fabricate it. Have a few doubts regarding the mounting points, but think theese will be sorted as i go.
