    Default My new American 4x4!

Okay, not exactly expedition material, but cool nonetheless: two-cylinder, 16-horsepower diesel engine, power take-offs, dual-range transfer case, independent rear-wheel braking. Just given to me by my father-in-law. It's going to be great around the property.

Take off the loader...put it on one of Mario's trailers...and you'll have your alternative means of getting out of the backcountry when you breakdown on solo trips I grew up on a farm and spent many hours on tractors...haven't been on one since...there IS "something" about a tractor...brings back lotta memories for me...cool little tractor, Jonathan

Nice of the father-in-law to give you a tractor!

Can you swap the tires from the tractor on to the 40?

Nice. We've never had a tractor smaller than our international 504 but I'd imagine one of those utility tractors would come in handy.

Very nice! Just think about how fast you could clean up camp in the mornings. Just put out the warning the night before: "I'm scooping up camp at 8:00am. Anyone not packed up by then will have my assistance".

Judging from my experiences with this group, at 8:00 I'd be scooping up a lot of still-occupied sleeping bags!

I still have a soft spot for big farm tractors, but for our 20 acres this little John Deere should be perfect.
