Finished up and used a cr*pload of butyl caulk in the process.

Great build! just read the entire thread...
Thanx!

Got the door in place today. It was 14 deg F today (-10 C) so evertyhing had to be heated before assembly to get the right temperature for the caulk.

And drove it home for the holidays. The plan is to make a temporary bedspace and hit the road.

As You see we have got extremely little snow compared to what we usually have around this time of year. But within an hours drive from home there is plenty when You gain altitude in the mountains.

We have had a couple of awesome days after xmas. Cold but sunny and perfect ice.

We have been out all day long (which isn't that long btw) enjoying the outdoors.

Yesterday me and a buddy hit the interior to get ready for a couple of days in the camper.

Great build! Congrats!

Thanx pappawheely!
Just back from a trip to Norway, had a couple of awesome days backcountryskiing in deep powdersnow.

Before departure me and the buddy finished up the interior. We just made a bed, hooked up a led lightstrip, a 1000 W inverter and the ventilationfan. Stored our stuff under the bed and slept like royals in our sleepingbags.

The interior, it´s a simple setup for now until I will figure out how I want it exactly. It will definitely be modified/changed.

We put a regular curtain to cover the door.

...and an old blanket served as a curtain to cover the window at night.

It was a perfect setup which secured us first tracks (even tough it´s hard to break trail uphill in deep powder) in awesome conditions.

The truck (and some nice skiingpics of me and the buddy) also made it to the "papers" when I got an article published in a Norwegian Skiing magazine.

It´s all in norwegian, but it´s basically just about what a blast we had.

A small awning on the back would be nice too! Great build, and glad to see it in use! Now, where is the jacuzzi, and pizza oven?

Yes that's true, I have had that in mind (awning) but havn't found one yet that didn't cost a gazillion dollars.

Jacuzzi, pizza oven and bar in the making!

Hahah! YEAH!

I have been keeping an eye out for the perfect sized canvas tarp to clip to my car. When we had a pop-up camper in my youth, my dad would use a carabiner to clip a canvas tarp to the side over the door.

Checked out some fluids after the roadtrip. I could top off the engine oil a little bit but not that much. The truck smokes some on cold startups but hey...it's and old truck.

Installed a couple of DRL ledlights that I had ordered from China for 6 bucks awhile ago.

Mock up.

And done. As you can se I got snowed upon before I was done.

Don't know if the mix between LED-light and the oldschool more yellow light is the best looking. But more light is better in my book. Rather look "ugly" and see the wild game in time then the other way around.

Swung by the weightstation today. With half full gastank and some wet snow on the camper I ended up at 2640 kg.
5c844199841c41dda4f4c94999d98e07.jpg

That makes it exactly 400 kg's (882 pounds) for the camper. I do think I have around 50 kg's more in gas and snow compared to this summer. But that's kind of a wild guess. I'm satisfied with having such a well insulated camper at a pretty low dryweight.
