If anyone is interested in FOX suspension. There is a group buy going on one of the Tacoma forums. I'm already on the list for some Fox 2.5 coilovers and rear 2.0 shocks.

Link?

Are these the same coils that Rickashey and Seanpistol are running? I'd be interested depending on timeline.

Same as what I've got.

Heads up... there was a seller on eBay with several pairs of the 880-06-420 when I got mine. Offered him $1100 for the pair and he accepted.

I heard. Do you know the seller name ?

Wow thats a bargain! I just ordered a pair of the front 880-06-420 last week. Seanpistol curious as to if you've experimented with the 700lb springs?

He has 700lbs springs now.
I been advised to run what they come with. Which is 16" 650lbs. Just have to preload them a tad more to get the same lift

Info from a member on tundra talk

You can copy/paste the specs that Ben swift gave out as well, so others have them.

The Fox shock part mentioned is for use with an Aftermarket UCA only. Extended length/extended travel. 10” of wheel travel.
A proper coilover for the Toyota Tundra. Best solution for maximum lift using an aftermarket bumper/winch, etc. because it is the ONLY coil spring has 8.1” of coil spring travel for the 00-06 Tundra application.
Had a wheel travel # of 6” of uptravel and 4” of downtravel.
All you gotta do with a 650 lb/in coil spring is: Figure out the compressed force of the 700# spring. Which is 2” preload x 700lbs = 1400 lbs compressed force.
With a 650 lb spring just compress it 2.2” and you’ll have the same compressed force.
In other-words how much the coils are “holding/resisting” before the other full weight of the truck is on the coils compressing them even more.
The IFS angle isn’t ideal as you know like when lifting weights.
Anything further from 90 degrees and there is more force exerted on the coils. Overall forces are greater because of this.
The coil springs typically compress 3.75” – 4” each depending on if your truck is a 4x4, heavy duty bumper/winch, heavy-duty battery, etc.

Thanks for reposting. Hopefully 2.2" of preload is a good baseline for setting the "sag". At some point preloading a coil too much can cause the shock to feel harsh "I've learned the hard way on dirt bikes over the years". I'm sure there will be some testing and tweaking to find that plush sweat spot in the stroke. If not...respring.

While I wait for more info on which spring to go with 650 or 700lbs

I decided I need to get my solar set going. I used to carry a portable one but it takes up room and time to set up. Since it would look funny with just a panel on the roof. I decided to do s basket as well. I really want to do an external type ladder rack but too much work and cost. Figure the shell already has an internal frame that I would just direct mount the panel and basket.

Ordered up an aluminum basket. It's pretty light duty but I was able to stand on it. (130lbs).

The panels has mounting hardware which works great for the basket as well so I ordered up two more mounting hardware kits just in case. Good thing because I ended up using 3 per side. I might do the Same for the panel and use 3 per side as well.

Still need to install the panel but I did get the basket installed. Decided to use nutserts. I actually got to keep the mounting hardware to stay within the basket for a clean low profile install. Probably 1/2 inch off the shell.

Still haven't figured out how to mount the ladder tho. Don't understand the need but I'll roll with it. Lol

[QUOT E=IS-RIDER;2049883]Nice job going off the grid!! Does it fit in the garage?

thank you.

It fit even when I'm missing a rear bumper and spare tire.

Like a glove! My cap has to come off, big pita. Time to move

I moved last year because my old house had a low garage header. I made sure my new house was plenty tall and being single story now. I can raise it another foot. One of my neighbors did lol.

It fits until you get taller tires

Maybe but I don't have a rear bumper right now so the rear is a lot taller than it really suppose to be. Won't be getting larger tires. I'm happy with my 32s. Same size as my goto crawler LT. 4Runner.

Solar is up and running. Hope it works when I hit Moab later this year.
