Hello everyone,
I decided to make my own topper for my F350. I almost bought a commercially available unit. but decided i would do it myself its made from 1.5 inch square tubing some it the main legs and the outer bars are .083 the other bars are .065 is it heavy sure.... is it heavy for my truck not even close. LOL. My plan is to put an aluminium top on with canvas side that snap down to the steel. I put the sheet steel across the bottom for a few reasons looks structal support and the best one is security it is very difficult to reach over that and reach anything in the bed. THe end will be closed off with doors. oh dont mind the welds it was very windy and everything i could do just to keep the gas from blowing away. the finished welds will be good.
