Utiility Trailer turned into Offroad Trailer

Looks good!

Maybe I missed it, but any concerns about dirt/dust getting all over the facet/sink and venting while in transit?

I haven't quite figured that out yet but I'm thinking about a cover of some kind and I'll be mounting the shower platform to the front of the trailer to block the mud, rocks and gravel.

Hi.
A good job has done. I'd like to do trailer using axle as You did.
I wanted 6 lug Toyota so I ordered a 3500lbs axle to suit my dimensions, $225 with bolt kit.
Could You tell me catalog number of axle or url where catalog is situated?
I do not want to use wheel adapters (4x98 to 6x139.7). Thanks in advance!
P.S. I've found such a good site!

Badger, what is the width of your trailer, and what were the dimensions of the axle? About to call my local redneck.

I spent most of the afternoon on Friday building the tailgate structure, seems like it takes for ever to build pieces. Also got the propane tank mounted. I ordered the mount for $53. It's well built for the $. After I finished the tailgate I used some wood sealant on the interior plywood and tailgate. I had a quart of brown paint laying around so I painted the floor with it.

It's 54" wide outside frame to outside frame. My dims are 49" on center for spring mounts and 65" wheel mount surface to surface.

Looks great! The tank mount is sturdy.
Do your neighbors stop and ask you what you are making?

Yes they do, "what is that?" And "what's it for?" Lol

I have come to a stand still, not sure where to put my battery, I want to get one of those minn Kota battery boxes (as shown), but not sure if I should mount it close to the Hot Water tank?ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410116865.864969.jpg

The tool box is in the location that I'm thinking about and roughly the same size. What do you guys think? I need to be able to get a clicker lighter and my hand in to light the pilot.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410116983.565250.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1410116994.181307.jpg

I don't want it in the trailer as it will be used for sleeping eventually.

Thanks

I got the tailgate latches finished, I started out with HF spring loaded latches, but after mounting them and fabricating the receiver for the latch I found the bolt was too short. I called on my buddy and he fabbed up these new stout ones.

Open position, just flip it down and the pin slams through the hole, love it when a plan comes together!

Now that the latches are done I moved onto the tailgate support chains, simple but they work. I'm going to put a bicycle tube over then to quiet then down.

Next on the list was addressing the battery. I went to Cabelas and got a marine battery box. The only logical place was to mount it to the front of the trailer.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410819887.132299.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1410819895.765529.jpg
It even tells you when it needs to be charged.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410819906.432192.jpg

Next thing I did was wire the Hot water box pump switch. I fabbed a mount and located it in the box.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410820135.682251.jpg

I like a little ground light when camping, so I installed a LED light under the trailer. I put the switch in the box.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1410820247.224697.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1410820253.397569.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1410820262.864552.jpg
