Oh man-that sucks Pat. Don't let it get you down, I'm bad about that. When things like this happen it helps me to think about the amount on money my father spends on golf and how my aversion to the sport has me way ahead and that helps me except the loss $$ and move on. Sometimes it sucks being a self critical type A Polish dude.

I lost a remote control glider into the ocean once. It floated for about 2 hours before it was brought in to shore and I could get it. I did the steps I described, and salvaged the radio unit out of it. Wet is wet, 4' is not crush depth, so you are only dealing with water. It won't hurt to try, but keep it in fresh water now until you get the right stuff all together.

These were all taken with my Motorola Droid where I work.
Photos are untouched except for downsizing to 1200x from 5 megapixels.
Grassy field, two lakes on the other side of the trees with walking/fitness trails.
Trail beside the bigger lake.
Both lakes has small mouth bass in them.
Little iced over from winter time.
One of many toys I have at my disposal.
You can see some of the Hesco barriers in the background, we have them up all around our main buildings in case the Howard Hanson damn cuts lose.
Little guy on the walking trail I saw while out exercise walking one rainy day.
As I was backing out the work van to go to another job site, my FJ popped up in the side mirror, and I thought it would make a cool picture
More Hesco barriers seen in the mirror too.

Here are some shots from around the Robbinsville, NC area and along HWY 129 (AKA) "The Tail of the Dragon". When I had a Mini Cooper S we used to meet there every fall and drive the road (311 curves in 11 miles). You have to focus so much on the road to avoid death that most people miss the scenic overlooks.

Nice! Haven't cruised up there in some time. Thanks for the reminder of what a great place we live in! Sometimes I pine for the west so bad I loose sight on how much we have right here in out back yard!
Cheers!

Thanks VDP-I was about two weeks past peak colors that year. There are few things prettier than the Blue Ridge in fall.
John...don't rub it in...just kidding-great shots!
