Smokey Joe BBQ Fix

The little Smokey Joe BBQ works great, but it is really awkward to pack and transport so I put together this little hack.

The legs are 5/16" and unscrew from the bottom of the bowl. I picked up rubber feet and the other hardware at Lowes.

The legs have nuts in the middle to make them easier to screw into the threaded sleeves on the bowl.

The legs unscrew and drop into the bbq, making the whole thing almost 1/2 the size it was before.

That is genius! I just might have to do that. I have the 22.5 WSM but that thing is a monster and I don't use it very often with a family of 3 unless its a holiday or big get together.

I find myself using my old Weber kettle grill the most for smoking. I made a copy of the SMOKENATOR 1000. Check it out if you've never seen one, thing works amazing!
