I found a dual battery setup in a 98 K1500 at the yard today, so I snagged the Ecu mount, battery tray, washer bottle and my driver inner fender is damaged so I got that too.

I was hoping that my 8.1 ecu would fit the GMT400 bracket with out too much trouble, unfortunately that wasn't the case. The over all depth is too shallow and the bail wont hold the ecu in place.

I had this GMT800 bracket that I took out of something at the yard a couple months ago as you can see it mounts very different from the GMT400 bracket so I set out to combine the two.

I cut the top off the GMT400 bracket and the bottom off the GMT800 bracket and screwed them together with some cap head torx I had laying around.

Over all its about a half inch taller then the GMT400 bracket but using my eyeball tape measure it looks like it'll all clear.

Sure I could have bought a Workhorse ECU mount like Larry went with or a custom one but what fun is that when you can go to the junk yard and find some GM legos that will work. Not only will my ecu mount look factory-ish (I'm kinda a nerd in that respect) but now I can run dual battery's
