At least at this early point in LED technology. Early adopters have their reasons and without them technology wouldn't march on, but I just don't see it yet.

I agree. I'm no longer bleeding edge on anything.

I'll wait until these things show up at Walmart for $20 in 2 years. :D

Keep in mind the focus is just as important as total output.


BTW, LEDs have a warning about looking into them for a reason. The element is bright enough to burn your retina. Unlike a normal headlight with the filament shielded, these LEDs are exposed.

Yeah the no shiitake idea comes into play. I use Whelen TIR 6 LED signal strobes as turn and well you'll know when I change lanes. I have a Surefire LED flashlight that will impare you for some time when struck at night with 90 lumens.
