2001 Sequoia Build and Adventure Thread

This is my first thread so y'all might have to bear with me at times. Anyway I was handed down an 01 Sequoia about 4 years ago, when I was 16. As any good 16 year old would, I opted for the cheapest route. So i started with a toytec 3/2 spacer kit, ******** Cepek torque wheels, and some 265/75r16 Matercraft Mastercourser at2's. I had this setup for about 4 years and hated it. The lift made the vehicle wander, the wheels never balanced correctly, and the tires were garbage. I always planned to go back and undo my previous mistakes, and this past summer I finally got my chance to do so. I replaced the front spacers with Bilstein 5100 adjustable struts set to the top setting. I also added a set of Camburg uniball uca's. I went back to my stock wheels with Spidertrax on all 4 corners, and for my tires I chose General Grabber at2's in the 295/75r16 flavor. The ride is 10x better and there is no shake in the wheel or body anymore. Now that these problems have been addressed and fixed I want to continue to build upon a platform that i find generally underrated. I will try to use this thread to document the build as it progresses and trips that I take.

Most of these aren't very good, but they're all I have right now.

Looks good! Keep us updated. I'm about to order up full OME kit for mine before our big road trip in October!

Thanks for sharing your information, too. I got a Sequoia after two LX470s and find it to be a close equivalent in performance while costing substantially less and having several advantages. (Not the least of these is that the added length makes it an easy truck for an overlander to sleep in.)All things considered, I think it is a very underrated truck, and I'm pleased to see you making good use of yours.
