What I'm left with, one ugly 2500!

I've got lots of plans for the truck, I'm semi on the lookout for a 3/4 or one ton front axle and hardware, moving the gas tank under the bed with in tank electric pump, installing bedside toolboxes (already have one, needs a door though), and an Atlas 4200 I6 from a Trailblazer/Envoy.

here are the frame mounts I started on:

Still need a plan for the oil pan though.

looking good!I used to have a 72 GMC a long time ago so i have a soft spot for the body style. i have often thought of doing a 4x4 version or doing a similar year suburban 4x4. i will be following your build.

Thanks!

I'm trying to find a 3/4 or one ton leaf spring front axle for the truck, but I think I may have found something more worth looking into, problem is, I have to find it again...

That is cool the ¾ chassis is a Longhorn. Longhorns are getting pretty rare these days. There is a guy on 67-72chevytrucks.com that in the process of converting a Longhorn to a 4x4 along with a Cummins swap. It’s turning out to be a really cool truck.

A straight 6 cylinder sounds cool but not too sure a Trailblazer 4.2L will have enough nut to motivate this rig in stock form let alone after a 4x4 conversion. They’re great engines in something light but man, you really have to spin the piss out of those engines to the point the pistons sound like their swapping holes just to get any power out of them. There not like the good old 292 I6 engines that would be period correct for this truck.

What’s the long term plan with this rig? Curious how it fits into Expo forum here more so than over on 67-72 page or Pirate or something along those lines.

Cool truck project!
