Jerrycan New paint

Planning to paint my old Hilux. To test colours and learn how to use the paint-brush I restored a few old Jerrycans lying around in the garage.
Colors on these two are Ral 6006, gray olive, the remaining jerry can will be painted in ral 7021 black grey.
I think maybe the Green color will be a little too "military" but have not decided yet.
Heres some pics.

What kind of vehicle feel are you aiming for? Did you want something less gaudy and more muted, or are you looking for just a fresher appearance?

Those Jerry cans look great! If you wouldn't mind, please post up the process you used. I have a couple that could use a fresh coat of paint.

I used a steel wheel brush to get down to the bare metal, on the first one I did I took away all the old paint too,

the next one I only took where I could see rust. I also used a 320 grit sander on the remaining paint, to get the new paint a chance to stick. The paint I used are oilbased, cheap paint.

I also had some primer on the first one, but only used the paint on the second.

Two layers of paint, applied with a compressor spray. I did it too train myself for painting my hilux. I found out that I need 2 layers for the cans, maybe more for the car.

I think primer might not be necesary for the cans, but will use it on the car. Using spray is a little mor job than just roll it on, but the result is much better. I needed to experiment a bit with the paint to find the right amound of thinner in it, but not too much, maybe 5 -10 %, i used white-spirits.
