The overland expedition in our GeoCruiser (LandCruiser HZJ78) from Nova Scotia to Argentina has started in May 2014. We have some stories on our website. The website is written in Dutch, but there is Google Translate on each page. If you choose your own language, you'll see it will translate all pages in an instant with one click. Hi Folks,

On our PanAmericana expedition we have to leave the USA by half November into Mexico. We planned to go to Baja first and take the ferry to the mainland and travel to Yucatan. But hurricane Odile shut Baja down for a while.
Which route through Mexico is the safest to drive to Yucatan. We will be in California by then, but we can drive to Arizona or New-Mexico or even to Texas, getting to a safe route through Mexico.
Who has some recent information for us or can tell us from own experience.

We are in Baja now and everything is fine so far, although we are still in the north. We came in after the storm and were a bit worried. All of the locals have been telling us that travel is fine all the way to la Paz, as well as another overlanding couple, and that even much of Cabo is up and running and welcoming tourists.

It's good to know Baja doesn't seem smashed to bad for the North part and maybe the ferry to mainland is stll functioning.
