Gov't Mule - M101A3 multipurpose trailer build

Definitely spend more time in the Cohutta Wilderness. It's my stomping grounds and a heck of a place to grow up.
Next time I suggest hickey gap ORV trail. "trail" is a relative term and will put the rig and the trailer to the test.

Glad I could bring back some memories for you. We enjoyed our short stay and took backroads to Copperhill. Its definitely an area I want to explore more.

Went camping this weekend but did manage to get a little time to finish the license plate mount up and test the lights for it.

This was one of the few places I found that the plate wouldn't get beat up. I didn't want it hanging below the rear end or under the tailgate (catching on steep ground or gravel, etc roughing up the plate/lights). I thought about on the tailgate but then would have an issue with lights, wiring, and screw heads.

I finally found something that worked for the backup light lens. As I mentioned before when you remove the red blackout lens, the clear lens no longer is captive between the light housing and the screw on backing plate. I found some edge trim that fit on the lens and gave a snug fit to the clear lens again.

Quick pins from Tractor Supply to remove the tailgate for dumping farm materials.

Well fall farm prep for winter kicked in and this took a back seat for a bit. I have managed to pull one of the brake hub/drum assemblies apart to inspect things. For the most part it looked ok but the outter bearing on the pass hub had some pitting in the rollers so looks like I need to get some parts on order.

The other thing I did was take a router to the H2 wheels and opened the center hole up a bit so they would fit the hubs and my truck if needed. No picture at the moment but they look to fill the wheel well out pretty well and will match the height of the truck tires.

Well a few months have passed and I managed to finish up the tongue, get the wheels on, wire up the pigtail, and mount the safety chains. I've had it loaded up with tools and used it to shuttle tools/supplies to my pasture to build a barn. It's been really handy having the generator, air compressor, and everything else I've needed all in one place and at the end of the day I just pull it back into the shop.

A few picts to show the progress. The wheels mounted up...
