Test night

First winter test night went great.
Temp outside was -6 degrees Celsius for the Americans thats
21.2 degrees Fahrenheit

Inside on the other hand was any temp I wanted iT to be.
The little propane forced air heater heats up the small space in minutes.
I found that I work up about 4 separate times to turn down the heat.
The lower the heat also the more peaceful the sleep since the heater fires up less.
I ran the fan on a large boat battery the whole night with no troubles.

Any ways. I will opt next time so sleep at a cooler temp with more down bedding.

So far so good.

I had a friend with a camper join me which was great because it's always better to have someone out there with us to kill time. .

Lights

Today i switched over the lights in the camper
From an incandescent light bulb to high efficiency LED lights
I left the one light over the dinner table as an incandescent light just in case I need to set the mood with the old lady.
The LEDs have less of a warm feel.

Those bad boys are way, way, way, way more efficient. Seriously.

Kolpin Gas Can

Today I added a Kolpin Gas Can to the back of my camper.
I had to add an extra hole to the mounting plate so I could get 3 bolts into the bracket.
I used carriage bolts to fasten , then I cut off the acces threads that hang out from the bottom of the plate.

Product Info

Kolpin Fuel Pack Jr. with Bracket - 1.5 Gallon

Fuel Pack Jr (89185) and ATV Pack Bracket (89475) in one convenient package!
Capacity: 1.5 Gal (5.68 L)
Puncture resistant, crush proof, high-density polyurethane

Truck Camper Jacks - Titan

Yes. The gas can is a back up gas for the genorator.

Today was interesting.
My Titan Truck Camper Jacks failed on me and my camper fell over.
The front leg bent and the the weight of he camper shifted on to the single leg then fell over.
No one was hurt, and nothing broke.
There is barely a scratch on the front of the camper.
The is basically fine other than the jacks.

Lessons learned.
When using truck camper stands always use the bases that come with the jacks.
And
When lowering the jacks up and down never lower or raise the camper to much in one direction.

Clearly if I was taking my time and using the jacks in the proper manner, this three leg system would have worked just fine.

I would have taken more pictures but I was not in the right head space to pull out the camera.

It was actually very easy to put it back onto the wood camper stand.

Ah man, live and learn I suppose. Not to make light of your situation but glad no one was hurt and the camper is ok. The first time I took mine out we stopped at the grocery store for some beer and goodies. Well guess what, I backed into a car in the parking lot. Completely my fault. Put a real damper on the weekend as we were there for a few hours dealing with the basic police stuff. My wife, of course, was ready to go back home and not even go camping. Long story short, I try to not back up at all with it on my truck if I can help it. Live and learn I suppose. :) Since then I have used mine a few times and love the thing. I am starting to feel like I got my moneys worth finally.

Yeah the tripod Titan's are junk. Universally I think camper manufacturers went to Happijac/similar four corner jacks.
We too swapped out the incandescents for LED's. I'm not aware of warm LED's. The ones I got sure don't have that warm fuzzy feel of incandescents.
Glad nobody got hurt.

American thanksgiving

Here in canada we look for any excuse to party.
So we celebrated American thanksgiving by taking the campers to a remote spot ; deep fried a turkey and had a great meal and bonfire.
What a Great night sleep.
