Vehicle locator

Hello. Anybody have any experience with any of the various vehicle locators? Mostly just want it in the event that the rig is stolen. According to the Lojack website they do not cover my area very well. I have done some research and I am leaning towards this: http://www.pocketfinder.com/gps-locator/gps-vehicle-tracker/ My main hesitation is it's performance in warehouses, parking garages, etc.

The angry pit bull tied to the bumper is getting a little old. I am open to all suggestions if somebody knows of a better product.

Thanks

I am looking into this as well. I found Spot has a new product, the Spot Trace, which is purely a vehicle tracker that communicates via satellite. About $100 plus about $100 per year for the service. http://www.findmespot.com/en/index.php?cid=128
Leave a bread crumb trail so you can see where it went, and has coverage over most of North and South America. I am still looking for other options.

I have heard mixed reviews of the SOS function on other Spot devices, but since this doesn't have that I would guess it is alright. Anyone have any experience?

Yeah I'm a fan of the InReach over spot when it comes to rescue/SOS, but for simple tracking you don't need 2 way comms.

I've been using the SPOT Trace product for a number of months now and I think it's terrific. It does exactly what its supposed to do and it does it very well.
My cost was $99 for the device, with a $99 mail-in rebate, so net cost was $0. And then $100 for a (1) year subscription which is ~$8.33 per month. Well worth it to me!

Thanks for the replies everybody! I like the looks of the Spot Trace, I think it might have moved up into the number one slot.

But, I do like the Spot HUG features. The idea of putting a sensor on the doors and RTT to let me know if they have been monkeyed with is interesting. Having a sensor for high water is cool in case I park in a flood plain, and it does have the SOS button which I like. Now, where to mount the key pad...
