    Default Tire choices in 255/85-16

I know that the BFG MTs are popular around here in 255/85.

Does anyone have any experience(had a friend who had a friend that had one) with the Maxxis BigHorns or the Interco TrXus MTs?

They seem to be the only other tires available in that size.

    Thanks

Chris, I believe the new Cooper mud terrains are also available in that size. They are supposed to be a good tire also.

Don't know about the STT's but the All terrain tread Cooper ST is available in that size. It's the tire that I'm considering for my next tread.

The only reason I went with the BFG's was because I had a gift card to 4wheelparts, otherwise I would have gotten the Bighorn's. They are like an inexpensive MTR.

    That's good info Sven.

I have Maxxis tires on some of my bikes and I love them. BUT (big but) there are no maxxis dealers in Norcal(have to get em on eBay) and I am wondering if anyone has real world experience with 'em.

I pinged Maxxis about tire weights, and they seem to be the same weight as the MTs, and the exact same dimensions.

The Trxus MTs are smaller diameter, might fit in the spare tire spot easier and likely to have less of a rubbing problem.

I just got a second set of wheels off of ebay, so soon I will be test fitting.
