2005 F350 Build

New to forum and thought I'd post pics of my truck as I know how awesome truck porn is. I've got a 2005 F350 CCLB with 152,000 miles on it. Bought it used at 139,000 for a killer price. It had the wheels and tires already. Destiny struck and found a camper top the right size and color sitting on top of a connex box in a junk yard. I work at a power stroke specialty shop in Houston TX so we had to get elbows deep in the engine. Here's what we did:

-Complete engine teardown, clean, paint, and reseal with Ford OEM and Victor Reinz gaskets
-Did a REAL Bulletproof build with extras on the truck:
-Replaced lifters
-Replaced oil cooler
-EDR Delete
-4" turbo-back exhaust
-Updated turbo drain pipe
-Updated fuel pressure regulator
-6.4 banjo bolts and washers
-STC fitting kit (HPOP update),: ended up replacing HPOP 3 month later
-Updated dummy and stand pipes
-glow plugs and harnesses
-a few injectors
-S&B cold air intake
-banks intercooler
-Powermax turbo
-ARP headstuds
-Reman cylinder heads
-Stage 1 camshaft, pushrods, and valve springs
-cam/crank sensor
-water pump
-brakes
-axle seals
-Airdog II fuel system with fuel sump
-ranch hand bumpers
-Lifetime LED 40" light bar
-Vision X optimus round fog lights
-coolant filtration system
-SCT livewire tuner and custom gearhead tuning
-and a bunch of other parts.

Had to make sure this thing was going to run right for awhile. I have built two bed systems in the back and ended up tearing them out and working on a redesign. Going to take off the camper shell and do a complete reseal as it has developed some leaks. Looking to do a custom roof rack that braces under the camper shell. Also on the list is:

-Oil Bypass filter system
-New Tires???
-I'd like to get 16-17" wheels too
-Secondary batteries mounted in the bed with solar charging
-high capacity transmission and differential covers
-one-piece driveshaft

Sharp prolonging truck. What a nice score on the bed topper and in the same color. I'm going to get my 250 painted asap and address the camper at the same time.

Nice truck...........love the color

Cant beat a long bed diesel!

I would be scared of the 6.4L, because it was only made for 3 years........but it sounds like all the upgrades and needed repairs were done!

What size are those current tires/wheels?

Thanks! This is actually a 6.0L. I stay away from the 6.4L because of how weak the low end is and how expensive parts are for it.

I've got a 20" wheel with 35x12.5s on it now. I will probably be going with a 17"-18" wheel soon and am debating whether to go to 37s. I'd have to cut away the fender some or go with a higher lift. I love the low profile of the truck with only the leveling kit on the front though, so i might stick with 35s.

Yeah brain fart.....its a 2005

Nice truck....... I would be even more scared with the 6.0!!!!

Yep, open country MT. 35x12.5. Great tire, but they wear quickly with all the highway miles I do. Traction is great most places, but average on sand.

D45, we've done every update to this truck and rebuild the engine from bear block up. It is solid and produces significantly more HP and torque than a 7.3. Parts are cheap compared to the 6.4 and 6.7, and have aftermarket coverage like the old 5.0 mustang. You can get whatever you want when it comes to this engine. It doesn't hurt that I work for the best Powerstroke shop in Houston :)

Wow I am shocked to hear those Toyo MTs are wearing fast

Mine has done great

Love the truck man!

Nice truck! My '06 is still running great with 186,000 miles. ( knock on wood ) LOL!! Even working at a Powerstroke shop all that work must have still been expensive

Just noticed your thread- great looking ride!!! I've heard that the 6.0 when properly upgraded and maintained is actually a good engine. As far as the wheels and tires go...Please leave it alone!!! That truck has a killer profile!!

Man, if you were closer, I would trade you for my 16x12" MT wheels and tires... lol

What did you use for a one piece drive shaft? Id like to shed some weight and get a one piece for my '04 CCLB also.
