Cyberman's Trailer Build

Cyberman

Observer
After several months of gathering ideas from other builds (Box Rocket, DIRTCo, etc.), I've decided to create this build thread to chronicle my build, which is well underway.

Started with a 4' x 6' flatbed trailer that was built using c-channel.

Stripped off the fenders and odd angles and ordered a 6-lug axle to put underneath.

Ordered initial 500 lbs. of steel.

IMG_20141024_110845559_HDR.jpg

Fast forward a bit. Added center 3" tube to tongue, 1 1/2" uprights and 3"x1" top rail.

16 ga. sides and floor installed. Front of trailer made for doors.

Added rack rails normally used in server racks, for pull out shelf.

skateboard bearings

hey cyberman, very impressive build i was wondering about the rear pull out with the skateboard bearings. what is the pull out part made from? it looks like box section on the photos, but how does this fit between the upper and lower rollers and what stops it coming all the way out? curious as i plan to copy this for my build.

The shelf is made from 1" angle for the sides, with 1" square tubing for the cross braces. I simply run a bolt in the back, after it passes the top bearings. There is a spring loaded pin securing it when stowed. Because of the length and the amount of weight on it, the final step will be a fold down leg to keep it stable when deployed.

First time out, performed well. Still things to do, improve upon.

can you show how you mounted the skateboard bearings to the frame? awesome build!
The center of skateboard bearings are just a little larger than 5/16". I drilled and tapped the frame, put the bearing on a 5/16" stainless bolt, followed by a stainless nut, and fastened the assembly to the frame.

Love the HF LEDs with magnets on the back. Those things are hard to beat for the price. No refrigerator, tho, just an ice chest? Just curious as I've been thinking about a fridge. Really nice build.

I have a Coleman powerchill. Fridge was not in the immediate budget
