2015 GRJ76K Outback Japan edition

A few weeks ago I had the chance to drive a 2015 Land Cruiser 76, specifically the new GRJ76K, which was a limited-edition model 70 Series Land Cruiser. It was released as a 30th Anniversary edition, with a 5 speed and the 1GR-FE petrol V6 that comes in the Tacoma, FJC, Hilux/4Runner, and the Prado. Sadly the V8 turbo diesel that the 70 Series gets in Australia, South Africa and the Middle East won't pass emissions in Japan. This model is the demo vehicle for Outback Japan who are the ARB distributors in Japan. This had a 2 inch OME lift on the stock wheels and 315s. All the other mods are visible in the photos and are all ARB items.

But North America gets the TRD Pro Tacoma, Tundra and 4Runner. None of those vehicles come to Japan officially.

I have a VDJ76 for the next few months. It's nice but a bit basic for they money.

The engine is pretty great but it desperately needs a sixth gear.

Mark's 4WD Adapters has a 6 speed auto tranny but it's quite an expensive option afaik.

Unfortunately modifying isn't an option. It's a Toyota press vehicle.
