The inspiration for this build came from my Tiger Bengal TX, which I loved. However the practical side of me wanted a vehicle that I could use when not camping. Also, here in S.C. we pay an annual property tax on our vehicles. So a $120k motorhome had a first year tax of approx. 2k. Each year it decreases by 10%. Since this is technically a truck camper, taxes and insurance are substantially less.
Basically what this is, a truck camper with more interior space and smaller foot print than my Tiger. Also, no generator is needed with the solar and Blue sea charger. The Cummins engine and the Aisin transmission provide tons of power and torque. A friend drove the truck without the camper and commented how it had more get up and go than his BMW. Part of me is reluctant to sell due to the time and effort it took. But I've come to the conclusion that I want an overland vehicle with Jeep like capability and on road performance. My plan is to build a van with the U-joint conversion.

Estimated weight is 2800#'s. With the removal of the factory bed and replacement with the lighter aluminum flatbed, we are probably at or a little over GVWR.
