WOW! This might be weigh challenged for N. America roads but I very much like it anyway. I really like Provan Tigers on 1 ton chassis.

Can you tell me how much weight the Xplora box adds to the truck? What are the dimensions of the box?

I like the design of it all.

Cheers

Hi !

The weight of the camper you see in the image is 1950 lb without water.
Those include the rear tyre, awning, electrical system, water system, furnitures, 4 lift jacks, solar panel, fabrics, carry-bike, Webasto Dualtop heater, Webasto X100, rear 12 liter diesel tank, etc.

Inside dimensions:

Length: 290 cm
Width: 183 cm
Height with roof closed: 160 cm

^^^ Is that the completed project truck, or inspiration for the project? Very cool

More pictures, please! I would love to see it under construction/getting built.

Although we do not have an american distributor we are close to make an Xplora for an american truck ;)

It is 100% viable for us to export to the USA.

I have been working with them (very preliminarily) to see about getting one of their cabins. I have found them very responsive, and they are good English speakers.

They seem to be willing to consider building on several different appropriate trucks, and a quick check of the costs suggested it's not prohibitive to ship them your North American truck for the build.

All in all, my experiences so far are positive, and I think it's a viable option.

Good news!

And Mike, thanks for sharing your experience with other camper projects, I expect we'll hear about getting a Uro-Camper. Gee if I ship a truck to Spain, I could use it as a jumping off point for a tour of Europe and North Africa :ylsmoke:
