Camping trip with Dogs and Telescope

Well I am all packed up (3am) and ready to go on a camping trip with my dogs.
I am driving approximately 300km's to an old mining area that I know of.
We will have nice clear skies with no light pollution, this is why I am taking my telescope I hope to capture some shots that have failed me so far.
The area will be high in Salt water crocodiles so camping beside any form of water is a no no, this will limit my camping options. Also I have to watch out for wild buffalo and pigs.

What's the scope? I was pretty deep into Astronomy a few hobbies ago, still have a Meade 14" SCT in a roll off roof obs in the back yard, my skies are pretty light polluted too, mostly why I lost interest.

Nice setup. We travel with a Meade LS8 - takes up a lot of space, but we just got a case from JMI that should make life with a scope much easier.
