Last sumer I bought this U416.It had lived on an Army Airfield as a reserve snow plow/Aircraft Tug for 35 years,during that time it had only travelled 21,000 km.
It has a four speed box with working gears,an overly complex Hydraulic system added by the military and a Rear pick up hitch.
The deck floor is 25mm steal plate,perhaps to add some weight for snow plowing operations,probably not for mine protection,haha.
I added a 14 ton Hydraulic winch to the Snow plow bracket,its a bit low but does the job
I made a frame and covered it with a rubberised sheet,a Fireplace I made from an old Gas bottle and a double skinned chimney from some exhaust tubing.The shelter does the job but as summer approaches it won't keep the bugs out.I am replacing the four speed box with a six speed and going to Denmark to collect a propper camper box.
The Truck is registered as a Tractor here in Norway,that means I am limited to 40kmph,it goes faster but don't tell the cops.
