2000 F350 build

Well, after owning and slightly building a few trucks in the past, I have finally decided to document a “full build” of my most recent purchase. The truck is a 2000 Ford F350 CCLB SRW with the 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel w/222k miles. This will be the first for me in many ways as I have never owned a diesel or a Ford and although this is my first Diesel Truck, I am no stranger to Diesel’s. I started my Coast Guard career 14 years ago learning how to work on the 903 Cummins, Detroit Diesel 6V92TA, Paxmans and now MTU’s.

I can’t believe how many amazing builds are on here and now I will finally have one of my own (that’s another first for me) and I am excited to have this community to chime in on it. My girlfriend and I are very much into traveling, exploring, camping and our dogs and we will be building this truck to support us and our 3 dogs on long trips all over the Country. That is where this community comes in handy as I will have many questions along the way.

Now to the truck:

cleaning the interior

First order of business will be cleaning and preserving. The previous owner never washed, vacuumed, wiped, or anything to the truck so i have 15 years of catching up.

first rip out the interior:

then sand, prime and paint the thresh hold with bed liner:

then inspect and insulate:

then reinstall:

More to come on cleaning and inspecting...
