I have a custom build 1957 Land Rover 109 for sale. It has been completely redone down to a frame which has been sandblasted and reinforced. There is a custom make steel gas tank. The running gear are Dana 60's from a 1 ton dodge. There are disc brakes all around. There are ARB air lockers both front and rear. There is a belt driven air compressor under the hood. The transmission is a 5 speed manual from a 1 ton dodge truck. There is a 6.2 diesel up front. It has a power steering with a Saginaw steering box. It has Bearclaw 35" tires almost new with spare. It has an external cage with complete roof rack. The roof rack is set up to hold a roof top tent. There is a 12,000 lb warn winch up front. There is a safari roof on top. There is a pair of jeep leather power seat up front with tilt steering wheel. There is a handyman jack mount on the back. This truck was built to be a very reliable vehicle to travel anywhere in the world. There is no computer on board and a long as the engine get clean fuel and air it will run for a long time. It has glow plugs and dual batteries. The truck weights 5500 lbs and with the one ton running gear you will never break anything. I have grown tired of the project and moving on to other things. The truck in not finished but the hard part is done. It still need door weather stripping. The inside needs to be done. The dash is about half done. It needs a lot of sound proofing there is none now and it is pretty loud. The vehicle is located in Fairbanks Alaska. The price is $18,000 or trade for one ton diesel truck. 907--978--5044

Interesting build but there is nothing 1957 about it. Wish that it was such though, because I'd buy it!

Interesting rig, but as previously mentioned not a 1957 as it would have flat sides.

Looks like a Series 3 70's to 1985 body with the headlamps in the fenders.

...just saying.

Nice truck.

How are you keeping the engine cool on climbs? The 6.2NA really starts to build heat on climbs and it's hard to fit a large enough radiator into the Defender engine bay.

FWIW no matter what you do to the truck, you are going to have to wear earplugs most of the time. BTDT :)

Bulkhead, windscreen, roof, doors, wings, bonnet, rad support are all Defender. None of those bits are from any year Series truck.
