Default 24 volt to 12 volt?

When using a military trailer set up for a 24 volt vehicle, what needs to be done to run ito of a 12 volt system? Just new bulbs or do they work fine as is?

If it's just lights, switch the bulbs over to 24v and you're done. Electric brakes are a different story.

Edit: Hold up. I'm not clear... is the tow rig 12v or 24v?

Yep just bulbs. I think you can get away with running the 24 volt bulbs but they run dim... I would swap them out personally... If there is anything "complicated" like a battery box on there or electric brakes or anything (doubtful) then I would avoid running that stuff 12V... The world would be about 25% better if the entire automotive world was 24V in my opinion...

I have been corrected on another forum that my trailer should already be 12 volt as only Brit radio vehicles were 24 volt.
