Some updates

I have managed to sum up my journey in Alaska just before the most interesting part for overlanders (the famous Dalton Highway). In case you are interested in the adventure here are a couple links. I promise I will get better with updating this thread but right now I am just trying to get up to speed with the adventure :)

I want do do the same journey but basically start from home on the east coast and head south to Argentina. My plan is to take a 4x4 truck with a nice camper shell on the back with a folding cot in the camper shell. I'd have to bring my bike also like you did.

Go for it @donkey_jaw! But I would go north ask well (obviously), Alaska and the Yukon are so beautiful and impressive. I am glad that I went and didn't turn south right away.

I know the north is beautiful and would like to go but for some reason never had the urge to go there before other places.

Bad weather has positive effects on my blog. I am sitting in a Cafe in Banff and managed to write up my journey along the Dalton Highway.

Up North - The Dalton Highway, Deadhorse and the Arctic Ocean

Before I went I head heard many crazy things about driving the Dalton HIghway, basically that I shouldn't do it by myself. Of course, I didn't listen and it turns out the Dalton Highway (at least in summer) is a piece of cake. Seriously, I didn't put Jeepie in four-wheel-drive once, never felt unsafe or challenged by the road conditions and was able to fill up at gas stations when I needed it. Yes, Jeepie did get dirty (or: she obtained the famous Alaskan two-tone paintjob) and my windshield has a few more cracks than before but all in all the drive was pretty smooth.

Here is a timelapse video of my way down south: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-0lL9lYDVM

If you make it to Colorado stop by for a few nights. Hot shower, clean bed, great views. My wife and I are planning to drive to Panama, start date about November 1st.
